The personality of an individual is judged by his/her appearance,
behavior, attitude, education, values and some more varying features. Personality
development is often confused with enhancing your dressing sense and having
command over English language. A person who dresses well and speaks fluent
English isn’t necessarily supposed to have a good personality. Personality
development is an all round development.
Jack Canifield has rightly said, “If you keep doing what you have always
done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always got.”
Acknowledging and facing your fear may actually mean a better chance of
survival. It is always an opportunity to grow, learn and improve your
confidence and success. Think of your fears as a challenge to be overcome, or a
problem to be solved. Personality development grooms an individual, reduces
stress and conflicts, develop a positive attitude in life. It means enhancing
and grooming one’s outer and inner self to bring about a positive change to
your life.
·
Work on
your inner beauty – We all work on external appearance, but when you speak
everything get reflected, whether you are arrogant, dominating, self centered or
not concerned. From your actions and way to behave and speak all is reflected. So,
work on your inner personality.
·
Be
confident – A person’s confidence may go down due to mistakes, failure,
guilty or any other thing which is undesirable. Some people often develop
inferiority complex due to physical appearance, caste, financial status etc.
Such people take confidence as their weakness, while the truth is confidence is
their biggest strength. Confidence reflects your character, passion and
attitude.
·
Don’t
fear failure – One learns from his mistakes, so don’t fear them, rather
learn from them, mistakes can hold you back for a while but once made, these
methods will be eliminated and you can move on. Be prepared to challenge
yourself by learning new skills. You should always have zeal to learn new
things when at work.
·
Dress up
well – Wear according to the occasions, focus whether it is for office,
party or any other occasion. Dress up and accessorize according to your body
type, face shape, hair, skin color and type etc. Learn makeup tips. Accessories
include your shoes, jewelry, bags, perfumes, watches, pens and for men, ties,
cufflinks, wallets, visiting card holder, your laptop bag all make up for a
great look.
·
Your body
language – Body does 70% of talking and people will judge you by your
gestures and not by your speaking. Have confidence when you speak, people can
make out if your mind and mouth are in different directions.
·
Develop
leadership qualities – Leadership skills means how well you can manage your
subordinates to accomplish a particular task. Work harder to set an example to
your subordinates. Express yourself and always do as you say.
·
Know your
positives – If an individual has some limitations, then he/she also has positives.
Concentrate on your strengths, work on them, this will help you to overcome your
challenges and take you into a long run.
·
Be
optimistic – Have a positive outlook towards everything. Nobody wants to be
around a person who is negative and complaining all the time. When you face a
failure, let go the assumption that you are the unluckiest person alive. Expect
good things from the future.
·
Time
management – Stick to your time this will help you in prioritizing things,
to take decisions what to do when and how, to say no and where to schedule
what. With time management you will learn what your priorities are, scheduling,
this reflects better team management qualities and you will be in position to
lead. But first manage self and then you can manage your team well.
To summarize keep a smart head and keep cool, don’t copy anyone, create
your own personal style, don’t doubt yourself, be an active listener, learn to
have patience and focus on your communication skills, be polite and gentle, be
executive in dress, don’t shout or be aggressive, be more passionate about your
work and be optimistic, accept and recognize your weak points, learn to
appreciate others.
If you choose a safe option all your life you will never grow and be all
that you can be, but if you are willing to face the world head-on with all of
its dangers and challenges, the sky is the limit.
All the best!
Excellent.....
