Review on book – “You Can Win” | Monica’s Archives

“You Can Win” is a motivational book written by Shiv Khera. This book was recommended to me by my father, who is a management consultant. I am glad I read the book as it has changed me quite a lot. I have started looking at everything in a positive way, which helped me personally and also in my profession. The book is divided in 8 chapters which focuses on building a positive attitude, winning strategies, motivating yourself and others every day, building positive self-esteem and image, building a pleasing personality, forming positive habits and character, setting and achieving your goals and doing the right thing for the right reason. The book provides a great learning experience for those who want to achieve success and positivity in their life. Main attractions are short stories from our everyday life which can empower anyone. I got involved in them as if it all happened with me and helped me to understand more clearly the situations we face in our life.

The author has made great efforts to provide the readers with the right values and vision for achieving success. The author emphasizes on the fact that being a successful person is not enough. Being a good human being is equally important. Attitude is the most important part of life which shapes our lives. To be successful in any field, attitude plays 85% and others 15%.  The book helps the readers to remove the hurdles that block the path to success and teaches how to handle all the situations which you face in life. Many things we know but realize when someone says it in a positive way. Like one of the points which I remember is: Winners see the gain. Losers see the pain. Winners see possibilities, losers see problems. Winners say,” I will do something”. Losers say,” Something must be done”. Winners say,” It may be difficult but it is possible”. Losers say,” It may be possible but it is TOO difficult”. Winners see an answer for every problem while losers see problem for every answer.
It is a must read for adults as well as adolescents who are in important phase of life: to learn about basic principles of success. Definitely there will be a change in your life after reading the book. It will shake you from inside; you’ll find that each and every line is defining you or your situations. The concept of this book is so nice that it attracts the readers to read ahead and ahead. The language used by the author is simple and flowing. The print quality is excellent which adds to the joy of reading. This book comes in 16 languages. Last but not the least, I will always remember the punch line “Winners don’t do different things, they do the things differently”.
                                                                  Happy Reading!
